Barthes, Baudelaire, Benjamin, Celine, Duras, Faulkner, Fitzgerald, Melville: There is so much to revisit. ‘Ingrid Caven,’ by Jean-Jacques Schuhl, is always in rotation. I used to read ‘Morvern Callar,’ by Alan Warner, every year – I adored that book.
